County Connection Advisory Committee
The County Connection Advisory Committee meets the second Friday of each month at 9:30 AM at the County Connection headquarter office in Concord in the Board of Directors meeting room, located in the Paratransit Building. The primary purpose of the Advisory Committee is to review, analyze, and advise the CCCTA Board of Directors on issues and policies relating to fixed-route and paratransit service. Committee members also act as a citizen liaison from the represented jurisdiction. Currently representatives are needed for the Town of Danville, the City of Clayton, and the Town of Moraga. Transit Ambassadors
If you are a bus rider who wants to assist others in your community in learning how to navigate County Connection and at the same time ride FREE yourself, become a County Connection Transit Ambassador. Six hours training required, followed by four hours per month volunteer time and a one year commitment. For info, contact Mary Burdick at (925) 680-2040 - burdick@cccta.org. Bilingual, seniors, and people with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

Bus Ambassador Program
The Bus Ambassador Program links volunteer trainers with fixed-route passengers wishing to learn how to use fixed bus service. In addition, the program provides ambassadors as assistants on fixed-route buses and paratransit vans, and assistance at major transfer locations.
Who can become a Bus Ambassador?
Any person over the age of 17 who is familiar with the CCCTA fixed-route bus system can be a Bus Ambassador. Volunteers with disabilities, seniors and bi-lingual transit riders are especially welcome.
Is training provided?
Yes, six hours of classroom training, hands-on training and on-bus training is required.. Training includes:
- Customer Relations
- Communication skills
- Listening skills
- CCCTA Fixed-route transit and paratransit information
- Transit fares and discount information
- Americans with Disabilities Act
- Connecting services
What type of commitment is required?
Volunteers are asked to make a one year commitment to the program, to provide four hours per month riding the fixed-route bus either training interested riders or providing assistance to passengers on the bus and four hours per month at one the County Connection’s major transfer locations (such as a BART station or DVC) or riding the paratransit vans assisting passengers. Ambassadors are asked to follow-up with trainees after field training and act as a general transit resource for them.
Who are the trainees?
The trainees are individuals over the age of 17 who would like to learn how to ride a regular fixed-route bus. Individuals with visual impairments and cognitive impairments require specialized training and are not considered candidates for the training program.
